Screenwriting Tip #1068
Don’t choose character names that “subtly” allude to famous figures from the genre you’re working in (e.g. ‘Weyland’ or ‘Clarke’ in sci-fi, ‘Poe’ or ‘Carpenter’ in horror). People will notice, and not in a good way.
